ShoreZone Demos and Community Presentation

April 22, 2016, 1-4 pm

Alaska Islands & Ocean Visitor Center, Seminar Room, Homer, AK

ShoreZone gathers important information about the biology and geology of Alaska’s coastline. Photos and video are analyzed and put into maps to describe coastal sensitivity, wave exposure, species distribution and more, providing information for resource managers, scientists, search and rescue, oil spill responders, boaters and others.

Join us to learn about how ShoreZone can help you better understand our dynamic coastlines.  Hear about upcoming ShoreZone surveys and innovative  tools and applications for using and visualizing the coastal data and imagery.

Surveys are planned this spring and summer along shorelines of the Eastern Aleutians, the Barren Islands, and parts of the Alaska Peninsula.
