Eastern Aleutians: April 8 – 15, 2016Team Unalaska will begin surveys out of Dutch Harbor on Friday, April 8. Surveys include Unalaska, Umnak and Akutan Islands. Barren Islands: April 23, 2016The ShoreZone team will depart from Homer on April 23 for a survey of the Barren Islands. This just in! The ShoreZone team will be sharing information about ShoreZone, new tools and innovative applications on Friday, April 22 at the Alaska Islands and Ocean Center. Join us from 1 to 4 pm in the Seminar Room to hear about new tools, applications, and ShoreZone information as well as demos and tutorials that can help you better understand Alaska’s coastal geology, biology, and sensitivity. |
Alaska Peninsula: May 4 – 16, 2016Team Alaska Peninsula will arrive in Chignik in early May to begin ShoreZone surveys from Perryville to Katmai National Park. The crew will base mostly out of Chignik but will also be using a vessel to access some of the more remote areas of the survey. The ShoreZone team will be sharing information about ShoreZone’s applications and tools during a community presentation in Chignik the 2nd week of May.
